Ingredients :

2 cups button mushrooms, cleaned and halved
1 cup thick yogurt (use fat-free or low-fat yogurt for a no-fat option)
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon gram flour (besan)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
Lemon wedges for serving
Skewers for grilling

Prepare Marinade:

In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.

Marinate Mushrooms:

Add the halved mushrooms to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Allow them to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or for a more intense flavor, refrigerate for a few hours.

Skewer Mushrooms:

Preheat your grill or oven. Skewer the marinated mushrooms onto skewers, ensuring they are well spaced.

Grill or Bake:

Grill the mushroom skewers on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender and slightly charred. Alternatively, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes.

Serve:

Once grilled or baked, remove the mushroom skewers from the heat. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the tikka and serve hot.
