Ingredients :
1/2 cup yellow moong dal (split and skinned green gram)
1 green chili, chopped
1/2 inch ginger, grated
2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
2 tablespoons finely chopped tomatoes
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon baking soda (optional)
1 teaspoon oil for cooking

Prepare the Moong Dal:
- Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 2-3 hours.
- After soaking, drain the water and blend the moong dal into a smooth batter using minimal water.
Mix and Season:
- Transfer the moong dal batter to a bowl.
- Add chopped green chili, grated ginger, chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Optionally, add baking soda and cumin seeds to enhance fluffiness and flavor.
Cooking:
- Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
- Grease the pan with a few drops of oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the moong dal batter onto the center of the pan and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin pancake.
Flip and Cook:
- Cook until the edges start to lift, and the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the chilla and cook the other side until it’s cooked through and lightly browned.
Serve:
- Repeat the process for the remaining batter.
- Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt.
