Prepare the Peanuts:
If using raw peanuts, you can roast them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes until they’re lightly golden and aromatic. Allow them to cool before proceeding.
You can also dry roast in a pan till its light golden and aromatic.
Place the roasted or dry roasted peanuts into your food processor or high-powered blender. Make sure the processor is clean and dry.
Start blending on a low speed and gradually increase to high. You’ll notice the peanuts going through stages: chopped, ground, paste-like, and finally, creamy peanut butter.
Stop the processor occasionally to scrape down the sides to ensure even blending. This helps to achieve a smooth texture.
If desired, you can add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavour of the peanut butter. Blend for a few more seconds to incorporate it.
Transfer the freshly made peanut butter to a clean, airtight container. You can store it at room temperature for a week or two, or in the refrigerator for longer shelf life (up to several weeks).
Use your homemade peanut butter as a spread on toast, as an ingredient in recipes, or in your favourite peanut butter-based snacks.
