Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season them with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp.
Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant.
Lemon Zest and Juice:
Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice. Cook for another minute to allow the flavors to meld.
Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the shrimp and toss to coat.
Transfer the lemon garlic shrimp to a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges if desired.
Serve the flavorful lemon garlic shrimp as an appetizer or as a main dish over rice, pasta, or with a side of your favorite vegetables.
